I feel so much of this and I think so many people will.
I’m sure there are folks out there who still maintain friendships from high school, but I doubt the closeness remains the same. There’s just something about the shared trauma of that time in our lives. Even if it’s “not that bad”, high school is rough. So we cling to the people we get close to then. And often, once that time is finished, we drift apart.

I’m sure “Abby” would be happy to hear anything from you. Even if it’s a small note of sympathy or thought that you’re thinking of her and her family.
