Oof. Yeah, I've had an issue with the "oh, have you lost weight?" my entire life. I've yo-yo'd since I was a kid because I've always struggled with my weight. My mother had me on every kind of diet since I was 10.

Yes, 10.

I am now on Ozempic because I have Type-2 diabetes and none of the other medications I was taking would reduce my A1C to a manageable level. My diet was already where it should be (it has been, for quite some time), my becoming diabetic was likely genetic, and I've struggled to lose weight for years. In fact, thanks to thyroid issues and who the fuck knows what else (likely my autoimmune disorder and probably being insulin resistant) I was also gaining weight.

I've been on Ozempic since February. I started at 235. Today I am 184.

The only thing I've changed about my diet is I do eat less, but that's literally only because I FORGET to eat, due to Ozempic making it where I am NEVER hungry. I have to remind myself to eat. But I wasn't eating a lot to begin with. This is where people have an issue when they go off the medication and where I don't think I would have too much trouble if I do. I've gone two weeks without it, due to supply issues (thanks, docs who are prescribing it to people who don't really need it) and not had any issues with going back to eating the way I did before or noticing a weight gain.

I am happy with the weight loss, sure. But I'm happier with the lab numbers I saw last week.

My cholesterol is all damn near perfect. My A1C is almost normal. Every number on my blood work looks like a normal, healthy, 46 year old woman's blood work should look.

As a bonus, the scale is starting to look that way, too.

I have about 25 more pounds to go before I am where I am most comfortable weight wise.

Hopefully, my back and neck issues will allow me to start going back to the gym soon so I can facilitate that a bit more easily and tone this belly haha.

Great piece as always <3
