That's really intriguing. I didn't know that about the legal rights of adoptees! Here, most tribes require a certain percentage through dna testing (I think it's called blood quorum) in order to qualify for a tribal card and whatever benefits you can get from the tribe due to your status. My husband's tribe doesn't get the $ from the government some tribes do, instead, they have land offerings I think. Unfortunately, his mother didn't get him on the tribal roll early enough so he will never qualify for land. But in the last couple of years, they have started a casino, which he receives profits from. And they sent out $ during the COVID crisis which was helpful.
